ReflectionsCategories

PTA Reflections welcomes students of all grades and abilities to explore their inner artist in one or all six arts disciplines. New academic standards require more critical thinking and problem-solving, which translates into more creativity and deeper reflection. That's why Reflections isn't just for art classes. Entries should represent students' unique creativity.

Visual Arts

This includes many art forms that are visual in nature. The artist (student submitting entry) is a person who captures his/her thoughts and ideas to create a visual piece of art. Accepted forms include both 2D and 3D works such as ceramics, collages, drawings, paintings, sculptures, etc.

Film Production

This is the process of making a film. The producer (student submitting the entry) is not required to appear in the film but if the student chooses to, a camera or tripod can be used. All screenwriting, directing, camera/filming, and editing must be done by the student producer.

Literature

This is the art of writing. The author (student submitting entry) is a person who expresses his/her own thoughts and ideas by using words. Authors need to submit a single literary work (handwritten or typed) using grade-appropriate grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Music Composition

This is the process of creating a new musical piece. The composer (student submitting entry) is a person who expresses his/her thoughts and ideas by sound. Composers may submit and entry performed by an individual or a group and/or make use of a sound library. They are not required to perform their compoisition.

Photography

This is the process of capturing an image. The photographer (student submitting entry) is a person who captures his/her thoughts and ideas with a camera. By focusing on objects using various lenses, filters, and light sources, photographers may demonstrate the use of photographic techniques conventionally or digitally.

Dance Choreography

This is the act of designing and arranging movements in dances. The choreographer (student submitting the entry) can be a performer but does not have to perform in the entry.

Students with disabilities

Students who identify as having a disability have 2 ways to participate.
1. Enter the Special Artist Division to receive accommodation and assistance from an adult.
2. Enter the grade division most closely aligned to the student's functional abilities. Students are recognized and awarded prizes as part of the general student population without regard to special needs or challenges.

Made for the best experience.

Creating design systems within small teams
12pm
Rilley Fathese

One of the most important things that designers can do is to create and maintain design systems. Design systems provide a shared set of standards and patterns that can be used by all members of a team. They help to ensure that everyone is on the same page, and they can save a lot of time and frustration in the long run.

Learn what makes a design sprint successful

Sherry Hampton

Design sprints are all the rage these days, and it's easy to see why. After all, who wouldn't want to compress months of work into a single week? However, successfully completing a design sprint requires more than just a willingness to work long hours. In order to be successful, you need to understand the basics of Design Sprinting.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
